Carter never produced a complete account of his excavations. The Tutankhamun exhibitions of the 1960's and 1970's generated a spate of books but none added significantly to what Carter had already published about the tomb. This book is a revealing account of the subject.

Only a handful of color photos in this book

I bought the book hoping to reinforce my recent visit to the King Tutankhamun exhibition where the catalogue was too expensive. I was looking forward to color photos of the tomb and its contents. There are only a handful of color photos in the book. Nearly all of the photos are in black and white, but there are a great number of them. If you want to see what people saw in an exhibition, you will be disappointed in this book. I think its text is probably excellent, and there are just tons of black and white photos to look at, but don't buy this book if you want to see color photos.

Excellent informative book! If you want only one book on King Tut this is it! It very much lives up to its name - Complete Tutankhamen. Lots of black & white pictures, many color ones, and diagrams.
