Concise Guide to Dermaneedling

I found this to be an excellent book. I read two other related books plus medical journals before undertaking my personal microneedling experiment. My first treatment was in a doctor's office. While I was impressed with the results, it was so painful I decided never to undergo the process again (dermapen settings ranged from 1.0 mm to 2.5 mm with no anesthesia). In my experience, microneedling is more painful than lasering. I'm medically very conservative, but felt the principles behind microneedling made considerable sense. As such, I ventured to treat my own skin. While I was not as aggressive as the medical practitioner, my results were excellent. Before needling I arranged sterile equipment, sterile gloves, and hyaluronic acid to be applied as needed. I applied lidocaine 25 minutes before treatment. I did not use a setting beyond 1.75 mm since I felt it would be imprudent to treat more aggressively until I was able to examine the surgical outcome. No complications such as infections, rashes, or bruising were encountered, only mild swelling which subsided within 24 hours. The point of my narrative is to make it clear that because I read this book and the medical literature I was able to treat my skin with confidence. Because of direct pain feedback I was able to apply the precise pressure. Unlike the professional practitioner, my treatment did not leave lateral scratches upon my cheeks. It should be noted that I and the practitioner used all of the same equipment. As mentioned, my settings were less aggressive and I applied a numbing agent unlike the practitioner.

Younger looking with derma rolling

Excellent text book. Remember this is medical jargon so if you don't know medical terminology, you will be constantly looking up words. Dr. Setterfield proves the needling/derma rolling works; he does experiements; the needling by itself; skin care by itself; then in combination. He does cross sections of the skin to see results. The derma rolling plus skin products do work to correct sagging, lines, acne scarring, etc. I am so glad I bought this book.
