Amazing Grace - Amazing Story

A lot of times I read reviews where people say things like, "I laughed, I cried, etc" and I've written those, too. But this time ... wow. I really mean it. I absolutely love Ms Crewe's writing. Amazing Grace was open and honest, plunging unexpectedly into very dark and painful situations, then returning time and time again to dance with hope. The dialogue was perfect - easy, relatable, and very, very real. Ms Crewe has created a masterpiece with Amazing Grace. I didn't want it to end. Of course every story has to end at some point, but she kept it going, extending the reader's experience just enough. Even after I closed the cover, I knew I would never forget Grace. Wish I could head up to Sydney and say hi sometime.

Amazing woman!

Definitely deserves five stars! Don't skip this story. I hated for it to end. The main character is so strong and real she engages you immediately. Through tragedy Grace shines with her strong will and heart. Sometimes though the things we experience are terrible they can open our eyes to see behind another's pain. Because of her pain Grace is able to reclaim her family and be fulfilled.

The Tao of Travel-Enlightenments from Lives on the Road of Paul Theroux.
This book in soft leather binding (I think), with illuminated letters and ornaments and with a band attached to serve as a bookmark, made me so glad. It has a lovely font, Miller, and a drawn map of the world inside its book covers- A NEW AND ACCVRAT MAP OF THE WORLD - from 1626.This book contains mostly of passages and quotes from other books about travelling and not so much of Paul Theroux's. It's a great reference book. Freya Stark, Dervla Murphy - travel authors I must read!

how paul theroux was able to put his name on this book as though it his own work, I will never know, It's a collection of quotes from other authors that seems to be thrown together in no particular order. The back of the cover says " a literary travelers handbook from one of the finest travel writers." Seriously this just irks me that he took other authors writings and posted them in a book and put his name on the cover.

The COMPLETE Book of Demonolatry a/k/a Everything you need to know to get started today with Demonolatry

The title of this book did not lie, this really is the complete book of demonolatry. It doesn't take it for granted that the reader knows anything about demonolatry so it starts from the beginning with a definition of demons and demonolatry, walks you through the history and then plunges right into the good stuff - the meat and potatoes of demon worship. The practicality of the book was quite amazing; an example - the book has a ritual where it has the practitioner sprinkle sand at the cardinal points and mentions that if you have carpet in your ritual chamber that it would be best just to sprinkle the sand into a bowl set at those points. I love it when the author of magical tomes live in the real world!

The book ends with some lists of questions, that once you are able to answer them you will be well on your way to complete mastery of Demonolatry. What is best is that the book either includes, or tells you where to find, all the information you will ever need to know about Demonolatry.

Excellent Resource Book!

I am privileged enough to own a copy of "The Complete Book of Demonolatry" by S. Connolly. In addition, I currently own five other books by this author. This particular book has opened my eyes in many ways to my ambition of becoming a Demonolater. This book is written in an expert, intelligent fashion by a Master Demonolatress. I found this book to be easy to read and comprehend, as the author has a superior writing ability. Initially, I was influenced by an acquaintance (named Napoleon F.) to give this book a poor review. After further contemplation and study, I have tried to correct my error here. At any rate, I almost felt as though S. Connolly was explaining this book to me over a cup of tea in her home, which I found to be a pleasant experience and writing technique. I have learned so much from this book and others by the same author. I am grateful to her for the knowledge she has imparted in her book. To my understanding, the author grew up in a family that was practicing Demonolators / Demonolatresses and so she has profound insight into this subject. This book also lays out the quite invaluable Richard Dukante Hierarchy of Demons, which was developed in the early 1960s. This book is an invaluable resource to anyone interested in the subject material. I have yet to read any book that is better on this subject and am doubtful one exists. I have great confidence in giving this book my highest recommendation! Many thanks to the author and my continued respect...

A good foundation for learning more about demonolatry

In this book, the author presents the foundations of demonolatry and explains how the magical system/religion works as well as how to work with the demons. The book covers a variety of topics including holidays, funerals, weddings, and other rituals. I found this book useful as a reference guide, particularly if you want to work in the demonolatric tradition. Some lessons are also included which can be helpful for learning the practices involved. At the same time, this is a book, and while its useful as an introduction to demonolatry, practitioners who want to learn more about this tradition will need to find other demonolaters to work with. I do recommend reading this book. It will provide a firm foundation for learning about demonolatry.

Apart from three letters now in the hands of the German Literature Archive in Marbach, Elfride Heidegger kept all of the countless letters and cards from her husband locked away in a wooden chest. After reading them one final time, in 1977 she gave the key to this chest to her granddaughter Gertrud Heidegger on condition that she should not open it until after Elfride’s death. After years spent deciphering, transcribing and ordering the letters with the help of her father and her uncle, Gertrud Heidegger has here made a selection of them available to the public and added a commentary that provides relevant background material.

This selection from the many letters written by Martin Heidegger to his wife provides an invaluable insight into their life together, their friendships and relationships, and sheds fresh light on the ideas and beliefs of one of the twentieth century’s greatest philosophers.

Review of Martin Heidegger's "Letters to his Wife"

The book is quite interesting about Martin Heidegger personally, both for what it says and what it doesn't say, which is why I wanted to read it.

It doesn't cast much light on his philosophy, but then I never expected it to do that.

I was wondering about the extent to which his philosophy carried over into his daily activities, and you can tell from the book that it did. He was definitely sincere in his philosophy of Being. His deep attunement to Being (vs beings) in fact sheltered him from the most horrible events of the day. This is not to say that he was unaffected through it all, but it seems rather minimally so. At least not affected enough to write about it, not to mention take action.

It's amazing he (and his wife) kept the marriage going through it all. His relation with his wife was a combination of revelation and concealment ironically analogous to his view of truth. Certainly in his case it is true that behind every successful man is a strong woman. He was the (not so humble) servant of Being thought it all and everything else was more or less a means to that end.
